Shirley M. Heck, 79, of Tiffin, passed away suddenly, Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born on November 25, 1932, in Norfolk, Virginia, to George and Ethel Hughes. On July 28, 1951, in Hicksville, Ohio, she married Norman L. Heck and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Dallas (Sue) Heck of Tiffin, Ohio and Dennis (Deb Knowles) Heck of Versailles, Kentucky; brother, George (Alice) Hughes of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sisters, Charlotte Perkins of Newport News, Virginia and Margarette Foster of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren, Eric Heck, Rachel Heck, Angela Heck and Stephanie Heck; and one great grandchild, Wyatt Heck.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and twin daughters, Donna Lu and Denise Lynn Heck.

Shirley graduated in 1950 from Carey High School. She worked at the Seneca County Clerk of Courts for over 20 years and as a cashier at Kroger for over 20 years. She also was a secretary at Memorial United Methodist Church in Carey, Ohio. Shirley was a member of the Woman of the Moose, Chapter 1001. She enjoyed traveling to many states; especially Myrtle Beach. She loved her dog, Cassie and all animals and hand fed squirrels. She enjoyed flowering, gardening and was always very active. She loved watching her great grandson, Wyatt.

A funeral service will be Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 4-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
