Shirley A. Permar, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon February 4, 2012 at her home.
On May 3, 1927 in Canton, OH; she was born to William and Hazel (Rittersbaugh) Seccombe. She married Jacques M. Permar on June 12, 1947 in Kentucky.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Permar of Tiffin; son, Mark (Diana) Permar of Kiawah Island, SC; sister, Sue Stock of Hamilton, MT; 5 grandchildren, Dawne Good, Brendan Monts, Logan Monts, Duncan Monts, Cara Permar and a great grandson, Cameron Good.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years, Jacques.
Shirley was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, graduated from Lincoln High School in Canton and received her nurse's training in Canton. She worked at Mercy Tiffin Hospital and volunteered and very active in the Seneca County Mental Health Board, CASA, and First Step. Shirley and her husband lived in Nuremberg, Germany traveled around the world together experiencing and appreciating other cultures. She enjoyed interior decorating, reading novels, needlepoint, holiday baking, playing cards, and golfing. She will be remembered as a lady who loved animals, especially her dogs, her strong political views, a great sense of humor and a loving mother and wife who took pride in her family.
A private service for the family was held with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, Seneca County Humane Society or the Tiffin YMCA.
