Shirley A. Poignon, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, February 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

On July 31, 1938 in New Riegel, she was born to Peter and Marie (Piccuito) Lauterbur. She married James A. Poignon on June 12, 1970.

Survivors include her husband Jim; daughters, Pat (Cliff) Margraf of Sycamore; Julie (Joe) Veigl of Tiffin; sons, Sonny (Debbie Rudzik) Poignon of Pulaski, PA; John (Donna) Poignon of Tiffin; Jim Poignon of Springfield, VA; Rob (Julie) Poignon of Sylvania; Skip (Wendy) Poignon of Temperance, MI; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brother, Michael Lauterbur of Tiffin; sisters, Donna Thallman, Rita Keckler, Mildred (James) Starkey, and Margarete (Paul) Breitigam all of Tiffin; Florence Frasure of Findlay; many cousins, especially John and Pam Pullella of Sylvania and many special friends, Neil and Keitha Williams of Ada, OH; Bob and Juanita Shreck of Cedarville, OH; Bill and Maridell Gault of Findlay; Ron and Lana Campbell of Grand Rapids, MI; and Jane Miller of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sisters, Karen and Sharon Lauterbur and Mary Brown and special friends, Harry Miller, Chuck and Rosalie England.

Shirley was a Chef, working in food service for many area restaurants over the years and cake decorator. She loved raising and spending every moment with her family. She enjoyed fishing, summers at Meinke Marina, traveling the United States and entertaining family and friends.

Her funeral service will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
