Stacy C. 'Chuck' Stansberry, Jr., 63, of Tiffin, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at his residence.
On January 12, 1946, he was born to Stacy C. and Lucille (Gressman) Stansberry, Sr., in Fremont. He married Hannelore Sethmacher in Germany in 1970. They later divorced.
Survivors include, his mother Lucille of Tiffin, daughter Patricia (Todd) Cook of Germany, brother Don L. (Paula) Stansberry of Fremont, two sisters, Sandra K. Stansberry of New York City, NY., Vickie L. (Dan) Ash of Millbury, OH., two grandchildren, Laura Stansberry and Lena Cook, one granddaughter expected the beginning of October, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father, brother, Norman J. Stansberry, and sister Theresa A. Scalf.
Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1963-1981, serving in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. He worked for Tiffin Metal Products for 13 years in Shipping and Receiving, retiring in 2008. Chuck was a member and past officer of the Tiffin Moose Lodge #846, member of VFW Post #2858, FOE Aerie #402. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and was an Ohio State University fanatic.
A funeral service will be Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, in Fremont, with military graveside services being conducted by the Dept of Defense and the Fremont VFW Post # 2947.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 2-8 PM at the funeral home.
