Stephen A. Tiell, 28, most recently of McMinnville, TN and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening unexpectantly, July 1, 2011 at Riverpark Hospital.

On September 13, 1982 in Fostoria, he was born to Paul "Butch" L. and Linda (Wilch) Tiell, Jr.

Survivors include his parents of Tiffin, daughters, Kaydence and Hailey; brothers, Jonathan and Kevin Tiell both of Tiffin; special friend, Angela Music and her daughter, Bailey of McMinnville, TN, two nephews; Hayden and Levi and three nieces; Madison, Tessa, and Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Dorothy Wilch and Paul and Rita Tiell, Sr.

Steve was member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel and a 2001 graduate of New Riegel High School. After graduation, he worked at American Standard and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Airborne Division over 7 years and did two tours in Iraq. Steve lived life to the fullest; he enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, camping and hiking. He loved the outdoors, spending every minute he could outside.

His love for nature drew him to many area parks and waterfalls. He was enrolled in college and on his way to graduating with a degree in Forestry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:30 am at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery in New Riegel with military honors conducted by the New Riegel American Legion.

Friends may visit and share memories with the family on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
