Sterling Abbott, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 23, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita Hospital in Lima.

On February 20, 1940, in Tiffin, he was born to Guy and Doris (Day) Abbott.  He married Beverly Kistler on October 22, 1966, and she survives.

Other survivors include a nephew, Guy Abbott; nieces, Delilah Woodland, Kari Morgan and Kelli McClure; close friends for many years and named after Sterling, Sterling (Lindsay) Davis, their children Colt Sterling and Vince Davis.

Sterling was a 1958 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Heidelberg College.  He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1962-1968 and was an electrician with IBEW Local #8 for over 40 years retiring in 2003.  Sterling was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner and enjoyed fishing at the lake and cars.

A private burial has taken place at St. Jacob Cemetery in Republic.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shirners Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.
