Steve L. Dicken, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010, in the Emergency Room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
On July 16, 1925, he was born in Bettsville, to Webb C. and Pearl P. (Mowery) Dicken. On April 16, 1946, he married Marjorie Scherger.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marjorie; three sons, Larry Dicken of Tucson, AZ, Gary (Jody) Dicken of Tiffin, and Paul Dicken of Fort Seneca; a daughter, Diane (Michael) Hoepf of Bucyrus; a brother, John 'Phil' Dicken of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Lori (Todd) Martindale, Renee (Matt) Valentine, David (Beth) Dicken and Emily (Jeremy) Schindorff; and six great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death along with his parents are two infant twin daughters, Susan and Linda Ann Dicken; two brothers, Webb Dicken Jr. and Donald A. Dicken; and a granddaughter, Lisa Ann Hoepf.
Steve proudly served in the US Army during WWII, Battle of the Bulge, from 1944-1946, where he received a Purple Heart, four bronze stars and a silver star. He was a member of Nature Trails Golf Course where he scored two holes in one. He enjoyed woodworking and being on the computer.
His funeral service is 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.
