Steven Wayne Laird (78), of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born on March 10, 1947, in Fremont, Ohio, to Wayne and Geraldine (Riser) Laird. On July 10, 1970, he married Dawn L. Hoyda, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2021.

Survivors include: (his sons) Kevin (Ashley) Laird and Ryan (Amy) Laird, of Tiffin; (daughters) Mindy (Dennis) Young, of Tiffin, and Heidi (Johnathon) Peeler, of Findlay; (grandchildren) Alesha Van Beveren, Felicity Laird, Alec Van Beveran, Olivia Grover, Olivia Young, Ava Laird, Carter Young, and (great-grandchildren) Breighton, James, Cayden, Jevic, Jetson, Nolan, and Adeline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters (Carol and Sandra).

Steven graduated from Old Fort High School in 1965 before attending The University of Toledo for Electrical Engineering. His early career included working for Tiffin Metal and Eckrich, where he then decided to pursue his lifelong passion of the outdoors, by starting his own lawncare business, which he owned and operated for 25 years.

Steven enjoyed spending time with his family, friends from Old Fort High School, and traveling across the U.S (especially if it included a good meal). With a passion for everything outdoors and gardening, and a deep lifelong love for animals of every kind (including his beloved cats), you could always catch Steven running around doing things he loved, with people he loved.

His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory (236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 / (419) 447-2424) with Pastor Bill Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.

Friends may visit the family from 10:00 A.M., until the time of the Service (Tuesday), at the funeral home.
