Sue Ann Schatzinger, 63, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday morning, June 2, 2014 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born on August 13, 1950, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Paul and Lucille (Smith) Weimerskirch. On February 21, 1970, in Ebenezer United Methodist Church, she married Dan Schatzinger.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; son, Colin (Janelle) Schatzinger of Republic; daughter, Nicole (Chris) Edwards of Pflugerville, TX; brother, Gary Weimerskirch of Columbus; mother-in-law, Joyce (Marion) Drake of Tiffin; 6 grandchildren, Hayden, Parker, Mason and Brody Edwards and Emilee and Owen Schatzinger; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam (Todd) Ley of Norwalk and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim (Betty) Schatzinger of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Bob Schatzinger in 1974.
Sue graduated in 1968 from Tiffin Columbian High School and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the Old Fort Lions Club. She enjoyed scrapbooking, decorating, crafts, trips to the ocean in Florida and visiting family in Texas. She enjoyed camping in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania and spent the last 15 years traveling to Michigan on the weekends with her husband in their travel trailer. Sue was a wonderful cook and homemaker, loved her Labradoodle Jozie and enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She was the best grandma!
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, Humane Society of Seneca County or the National Arthrogryposis Foundation, 3356 S. Cove Terrace, Birmingham, AL 35216.
