Suzanne M. Loucks, 89, of Tiffin, died Tuesday afternoon, November 11, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical, Toledo.
March 30, 1919, she was born in Fort Seneca to Howard and Mae (Gurney) Yost. June 8, 1947, she married O. Dale Loucks in St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Trenda) Loucks of Lansing, MI, a daughter, Sue Ann (Herbert) Shaw of Lima, four grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Deakins, Jennifer Shaw, Christopher and Taylor Loucks, and two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Camille Deakins.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Dale, on February 5, 1997, are an infant brother, Wayne Yost and a sister, Daisy E. Stone.
Suzanne graduated in 1937 from Jackson Liberty High School and Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Education. She taught school for over 25 years, at Bloomdale Elementary, Elmore, Rossford, Lorain then Tiffin. Suzanne was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, St. Paul's Daughters, Kum Double Sunday School, Tiffin Women's Club, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Tiffin and Seneca County Retired Teachers and was past treasurer for United Methodist Women. She volunteered at Betty Jane Center where she served as coordinator of Rehabilitation Volunteers.
Her Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom.
Friends may visit with the family 3-8 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Community Hospice Care.
