Obituary

Thelma Jean Eddington, 76, of New Riegel, passed away Friday morning, January 15, 2010, at her home.

On October 29, 1933, she was born in Toledo, to Lowell and Martha (Mathias) Welborn. On February 2, 1957, she married Richard O. 'Dick' Eddington.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dick of New Riegel, a son, Ed (Laura) Eddington of Frenchtown, four daughters, Brenda Cook of Tiffin, Sherry 'Sis' (Jim) Hines of New Riegel, Robin (Eric) McCormack of Bascom and Becky (Rob) Eoff of Oak Harbor, a brother, Bob Welborn of Fostoria, two sisters, Barb (Duane) Hohman of Ottawa and Kathleen Gruss of Tiffin, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two expected great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with her parents is a daughter, Beverly Eddington in 1964, and a brother, Carl Welborn.

Thelma was a 1951 graduate of New Riegel High School and a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel. She worked 10 years at New Riegel Moose Lodge, loved gambling at the casinos, playing cards, being outdoors, enjoying life and watching game shows. She was a NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Thelma made beef jerky and appreciated each Sunday as it was their 'family day' to be together.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, January 18, 2010 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian wake service will be 7:45 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Care or All Saints Parish, New Riegel.
