Thelma Mae Hoerig, 90, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday evening, August 31, 2010, at St. Francis Home.


She was born August 15, 1920, in Cromers, to William H. and Lena C. (Miller) Chaney. September 5, 1942, she married Clark R. Sager and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1970. She married Melvin Hoerig on December 27, 1979, in Las Vegas, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Terry) Sager of Tiffin; and Jack Sager of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Liane Sager of Norwalk; a granddaughter, Jenna (Jim) Skidmore; and a grandson, Jimmy Skidmore, all of Tiffin.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husbands is a sister, Margie Grimes in 2007.

Thelma was a 1938 graduate of Columbian High School and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She worked at American Standard during WWII then Osterman Jewelry. She previously lived in Florida for 20 years.

There is no visitation; however, graveside services are 11:00 AM, Friday, September 10, 2010, in Fairmont Cemetery.
