Thomas (Tom) C. Zahn, 73, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday evening, June 2, 2011 at his home after a brief progression of ALS.

He was born November 22, 1937, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Robert C. & Agnes A. (Schenk) Zahn. He married Mary Ellen Meier on February 1, 1959 in St. Joseph Catholic Church and she survives in Tiffin.

Also surviving are three sons, Bob (Terri) Zahn of Atlanta GA, Jack (Kathy) Zahn of Maumee, OH and Rick (Jenni) Zahn of Hudson, OH; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Brad, Nick, Grace, Lily, Abbi and Amanda; a brother, Michael Zahn of Brunswick, OH and one sister, Christine (Mike) King of Inverness, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1955 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and a member of Tiffin Elks Lodge #94 and K of C #608. Tom's career started in sales with Meyer Wholesale Drug in Tiffin and through many changes retired in 1999 as Operations Manager for AmeriSource in Toledo after 39 years. Tom enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, summers at Lake Erie with family and friends and being a husband, father, and grandfather.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass.

Friends may visit with the family 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)447-2424. A Christian Wake service will begin at 8:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, Linda Wurm Memorial Scholarship, St. Joseph Catholic Church or Community Hospice Care.
