Thomas A. "Tom" Schultz, 82, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, July 03, 2024, at his home.
He was born on April 23, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Charles R. and Helen B. (Stetka) Schultz. On February 02, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Edna Kathleen "Kathy" Work.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Kathleen "Kathy" Schultz of Tiffin; children, Brenda (Jeff) Carper of Tiffin, Tom (Brenda) Schultz of Westlake, OH, Kevin (Debbie) Schultz of Tiffin, Kathy (Phil) Gicobbi of Troy, NY and Jackie (Matt) Saum of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, Bradley Carper, Jayme (Emily) Carper, Andrew (Alex) Carper, Alex (Jordan) Schultz, Derek (Heather) Hunker, Hali (Adam) Jenkins, Tyler Schultz, Peyton Gicobbi, Brett Gicobbi, Josh (Melissa) Saum, Syd (Zach) Russell and Brenna Saum; six great grandchildren, Olivia, Joanna, Owen, Claire, Griffin, Teagan; honorary children, Ken & Lana Miller and Scott Seigley; sister, Rebecca Clevenger of Upper Arlington; sister in-law, Connie Schultz of Sylvania; in-laws, Darleen & Wayne McMillen of Cleveland, OH, brother in-law, Ken Work of Tiffin, and sister in-law, Janet Work of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert E. Schultz and Michael A. Schultz; and brother-in-law, Dan Clevenger.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. He started his career as an inspector at Ohio Power and then co-owned Russell Refrigeration, retiring after 30 years. He also worked at Mohawk Country Club as grounds and maintenance staff for 14 years. Tom enjoyed RC model airplanes, cooking, especially making chicken chunks for the grandkids and teaching them to make Elderberry Jelly, fishing and boating on his boat "Fringe Benefit" in Lake Erie, and RV vacationing in Arizona.
Services are private and burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bascom.
