Thomas Joseph 'Tom' Company, 63, of Tiffin, Ohio, died Sunday afternoon, June 15, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical, Toledo.
On December 10, 1944, he was born in Tiffin to Oscar C.J. and M. Eulalia (Blust) Company. July 5, 1969, he married Miriam Kay Thompkins and they had two children, a son, Patrick Joseph 'Chip' (Pamela) Company, a daughter, Andrea Catherine Company, both of South Carolina they later divorced. June 19, 1993, he married Kristi Ann Blackburn and she survives in Tiffin, increasing his family with three step-sons, Kristopher Benjamin McEwen of Bloomville, Thane Jason (Tiesa) McEwen and Adam Tyler (Angela) McEwen, both of Spokane, WA, raising them as his own.
Survivors include his three brothers, Charles Lewis 'Sonny'(Marion) Company, of Tiffin; Robert James (Christine) Company of Roscommon, MI, John Wayne Company of Tiffin, five sisters, Doris Lucille Kromer, Jeannine Marie Gaietto, Rita Carol (Frank) Dariano, Mary Anne (Edward) Market, all of Tiffin, and Elaine Elizabeth Heise of Port Clinton, 5 grandchildren, Patrick Joseph Company II, Jason Alexander McEwen, Corrine Marie McEwen, Kayla Renee McEwen, and Hayden Gage McEwen, mother-in-law, Margaret Blackburn of Findlay, two brothers-in-law, Steven (Deborah) Blackburn of Tennessee, Mark (Victoria) Blackburn of New Riegel, and sister-in-law, Paula (Ray) Podmore of Lansing, MI.
Preceding him in death are his mother on January 31, 2008 and his father on February 6, 1988.
Tom was a 1964 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1965-1969. He was employed by Daimler-Chrysler in Perrysburg for the last 39 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, cooking, softball, darts, and helping with the Sandusky River Coon Hunters Fish Fry for many years. His memberships included VFW Post 2858, American Legion Post 169, AmVets Post 48, DAV and Sandusky River Coon Hunters. Tom loved animals, especially his dogs Sandy and Ladybug. He was known for giving a helping hand to anyone that needed it. His kind heart will be missed by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Ferris officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 20, 2008 from 4-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
