Obituary

Timothy R. "Tim" Schock, 64, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, May 17, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

On June 4, 1949 in Tiffin, he was born to Daniel and Winifred (Cascaden) Schock. He married Ramona LaFountaine on April 27, 1974 and they later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Terry Schock of Fair Oaks, CA; a daughter, Allison Shatner of Olympia, WA; brothers, Jerry, Tom, Joe, John and Richard Schock; sisters, Pat and Nancy; grandchildren, Amanda and David; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Norm Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Mike, Daniel, and Jim Schock

Tim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, graduated from Chula Vista High School in California and attended Heidelberg College. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in 1969 serving in Europe and Asia as a Photographic Interpreter. He was honorably discharged in 1973. After serving in the Navy, he worked for many companies as a microwave communications technician. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed photography, astrology, bee keeping, carpentry, collecting coins and stamps and loved animals. He also was a rock hound and enjoyed driving around in his Subaru Brat.

His Memorial Mass will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to Mass at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Hospice or the Planetary Society, 85 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105.
