Vernon P. Dotson, 57, of Bloomville, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2014 at Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville.

He was born on September 2, 1956, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Thomas B. and Thelma L. (Wheatley) Dotson.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Josh Dotson of Gahanna and Steve Dotson of Tiffin; daughter, Heather of Lima; 2 brothers, Tom and Scott Dotson; and 3 sisters, Christine (Steve) Peyton of Bloomville, Linda Lee and Kay Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deb Dotson.

He worked on the oil rigs in the Atlantic Ocean in Florida for many years.

There will be no visitation or funeral services.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local veteran's office.
