Virginia Ann "Ginny" Hoover, 79, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday evening, August 24, 2015 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on April 19, 1936, in Seneca County, to Virgil and Idella (Schank) Green. On July 7, 1954 in Trinity United Church of Christ, she married John V. Hoover.

Survivors include her husband, John; two sons, John V. (Eileen) Hoover, Jr. of Tiffin and Steven J. Hoover of Fostoria; daughter, Sherrie Stamm of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Green of Tiffin; and close friend, Jean Becker of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ken Green; sister-in-law, Doris Mae Stubbins; nephew, Randy Green; and granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Hoover.

Ginny graduated in 1954 from Hopewell Loudon High School, was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and retired after 25 years as a switchboard operator at Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a Hopewell Loudon Chieftain fan and supporter, loved following her grandchildren through their sports and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed going fishing and collecting Tiffin Glass. Ginny also enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, Florida for many years and loved to be on the water.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
