Vlasta E. Janovich, 91, of Tiffin, died Saturday evening, August 23, 2008 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family.
On November 14, 1916 in Ennis, TX she was born to Frank and Mary (Kalik) Masar. She married John Janovich in Port Huron, MI on June 27, 1936.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Becky) Janovich of Tiffin; daughters, Patricia Ann (Arden) Craun of Burgoon; Mary Lou Bonham of Cookeville, TN; Betty (Gerald) Depinet and Donna (Mark) Sexton both of Tiffin. 15 grandchildren, Jim, Connie, Chris, Cheryl, Mick, Randy, Kathy, Steve, Ken, Linda, Tina, Kim, Chris, Nathan, Dereck, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Van Loo of Port Huron, MI.
Vlasta was preceded in death by her parents, husband John of 49 years, an infant son, John Louis Janovich, brother, Louis Masar, sisters, Mary Buenrostro, Lillian Mechan, Zdenka Collender, granddaughter, Caroline Craun and great grandson, Craig Bates.
Mrs. Janovich loved flowers, gardening, the outdoors, reading and puzzles. She worked many years with her husband on the family farm East of Tiffin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka and Rev. Robert Depinet as con-celebrants. A Rosary will be prayed at the church 15 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St. 419-447-2424.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor's choice.
