Wallace "Wally" J. Thom, 76, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, April 27, 2019 at his home.

He was born on August 28, 1942 in Tiffin to Carl and Florence (Scholidon) Thom.  He married Elaine K. Baugher on December 21, 1962 and she survives.

Survivors include his wife Elaine, a son, Jeff (Amy) Thom of Bloomville; daughters, Julie (James) Yoder and Jill (Greg) DeVore both of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Samantha, Alisha, Emily, and Caleb Yoder and Drake and Decker DeVore; and a sister, Carol (Dennis) Wyss of Tiffin and a brother, Carl (Linda) Thom, Jr. of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janet Guzman and brothers, Norman, Donald, and Kenneth Thom.

Wally attended Tiffin Calvert and worked as a caster at American Standard for 40 years, retiring in 2000.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 402, Tiffin Moose and AmVets Post 48, enjoyed golfing and camping.  He will be remembered by many as a simple man and as the grandpa with all the candy.

His funeral will begin at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ with Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
