Obituary

Warren D. Van Camp, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on December 9, 1920, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Clyde and Ella (Hollinger) Van Camp. He married Marcheta A. French on July 16, 1949 at Washington Street United Methodist Church in Tiffin and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2002.

He is survived by a sister, Beverly Lemon of Tiffin; close friend for many years, Jane Thaxton of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marcheta; parents; 2 brothers Thomas and John Van Camp.

Warren was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. He joined the United States Army in December of 1942 where he served in the Southern Philippines; New Guinea and Bismarck Archipalago earning four bronze stars, good conduct medal and a victory medal. Warren was a member of Masonic Tiffin Lodge #77, Seneca Chapter #42, Clinton Council #47, V.F.W. Tiffin Post #2858, American Legion Post #169 and the AmVets.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Doug DeVos officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or charity of donors choice.

Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
