Wayne E. Thallman, 74, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2015 at St. Francis Home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 15, 1941, in Seneca County, to Herval L. and Claudine (Bitler) Thallman. On April 14, 1973, he married Donna M. Lauterbur.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Mick (Jennifer) Thallman and Shannon ( Stacy) Thallman, both of Tiffin; four daughters, Deb Thallman of Detroit, MI, Bev Gaietto of Tiffin, Sue (Todd) Case of Gainesville, GA and Tammy (Shawn) Helberg of Findlay; and twelve grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, Brianna, Mason, Suzanna and Zane Thallman, Garrett and Brianna Gaietto, Brittny (Gerald) Hagerman and Jordan, Jessica and Thomas Case.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Thallman.

Wayne graduated in 1959 from Bloomville High School, started Wayne's Marathon in 1981, and then opened Thallman Tire until 2000. He also worked at Spec Tire Sales in Bowling Green and worked with his son, Mick, at Circle H for a few years. Wayne was a member of the New Riegel Moose Lodge #872 and enjoyed reading, woodworking, crafts, collecting John Deere toys, traveling and going on cruises. He also was a New York Yankee fan, enjoyed the coffee group at the Pit Stop and loved watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel.

Friends may visit with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday.
