Wilbur F. Mackling, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 15, 2020 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1930 in Bellevue, Ohio to John and Frances (Ruehle) Mackling. On May 4, 1957, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Louise Welly and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Larry James Mackling and Raymond Frederick Mackling; brothers, Paul Mackling, Leonard Mackling and Myron Mackling; and sisters, Ilene Kuhn, Arlene Clouse, June Huth, Leona Printz and Marian Briney.
Wilbur graduated from Bloomville Twp. High School and retired from Union Carbide in Fostoria. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed living in Bloomville and walking the train tracks, watching western movies, history channel, especially Egyptian history and eating grilled cheese sandwiches. Wilbur was a resident of Autumnwood Care Center for the last 20 years, where he made many friends and roomed with his best friend, Bob Hoffman. One of the many things Wilbur wanted to do in his lifetime was to live to be 100 years old.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
