Obituary

William A. "Bill" Kelbley, 78, of New Riegel, passed away early Saturday morning, October 26, 2024, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

On September 07, 1946, in Tiffin, he was born to Homer and Luella (Brickner) Kelbley.  He married Susanne I. Baker on January 20, 1968.

Survivors include his wife Sue of 56 years; sons, Scott (Christine Courtney) Kelbley of Cleveland; Seth (Tara) Kelbley of Alvada; Steve (Wendy) Kelbley of Fostoria; stepdaughter, Suzanne Gahn of Columbus; brother, Michael Kelbley of Tiffin; sister, Rebecca Moore of Elyria; five grandchildren, Tessa (Nick) Lee, Nicholas Kelbley, Hannah Kelbley, June Kelbley, and Noah Kelbley.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Caleb Kelbley.

Bill was a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel and a 1965 graduate of New Riegel High School. He owned B&D Furs for many years, Honeywell in Fostoria for 30 years, and Kelbley's Bar in New Riegel in the 1970's.  Bill was a little league and Pony League coach in New Riegel, a member of the Sandusky River Coon Hunters, and a lifetime member of Pheasants Forever, and Detroit Tigers fan. He was a down to earth guy that enjoyed his time in the "Fur Shed", farming, gardening, watching sports, Perry Mason, old westerns. He loved helping others, especially young hunters and trappers.

His funeral service will be Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 47-2424, with Deacon Gregory Siebenaller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in New Riegel.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pheasants Forever or New Riegel Summer Ball Association.
