W. Steven Berry, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born October 25, 1948 in Ashland, OH to William M. and Ruby S. (Saunier) Berry. He married V. "Lee" BeVier on September 17, 1977 and loved his wife with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Berry of Tiffin; brother in law, Ray BeVier of Thorton, CO; nieces, Tammy (John) Wilkins and their children, Oliver, Nicholas, Isabel, John Paul, and Francis Raymond all of Thorton, CO; Rene' (Brandon) BeVier-Dill and their children, Jackson, Eliot, and Josephine all of West Minster, CO; Danielle (Karen) BeVier-Yankovich and their children, Ethan and Davis all of Costa Mesa, CA; close friends, Chad Ferguson and Shannon Kander, Leeanne and the late Mike Kander all of Toledo; and Mike Cramer and Marjorie Cramer, both of Tiffin; and many cousins, friends, and his Cocker Spaniel, Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven Thomas, sister in law, Cindy BeVier, and his Cocker Spaniel, Cody.
W. Steven and his family moved to Tiffin in 1958 and he graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1968. He was in retail sales for many years, retiring in 1990 from Montgomery Wards. For years, he collected, traded, bought and sold promotional toy cars and later Die-Cast cars. He made friends all over and set up at area toy shows and flea markets. He was a caring and very kindhearted man, donating dozens of toys for Toys for Tots through the Tiffin Fire Department. W. Steven was always willing to help others. If anyone needed a ride or something done around the house, he was there.
A Funeral Service will Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, OH.
Friends may visit and share stories on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
