Obituary

William A. "Bill" Booth, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, December 25, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

On April 21, 1931 in Cuyahoga Falls he was born to William A. and Helen M (Fouty) Booth. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Kruger on July 1, 1950. .

Survivors include his wife, Betty of 59 years, 5 daughters, Becky (Bob) Smeltz of Tiffin; Kathy (Mike) Bramel of Marion; Karen (Jim) Sauber of Ashland; Julie (Denny) Kerschner of Tiffin; Lisa (Dennie) Baldwin of Midway, KY; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Booth and a grandson, Michael Bramel.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, received his B.S. degree from Kent State University and his M.B.A. from Harvard. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954. Bill moved to Tiffin in 1963 and worked for National Machinery until his retirement in 1986. He then became part owner of Q.C. Diversatool in 1986 and later retired. Currently, Bill was the business manager for St. Mary Catholic Church where he was a member. He was a 3rd Degree member of the K of C #608, loved his church and enjoyed watching football, golf, crossword puzzles and bowled for many years with the K of C.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the United Veterans Council. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be Monday at 1:45 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or FACT (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment).
