Obituary

William J. "Bill" Stein, 74, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday morning, December 24, 2015 at his home.

He was born on May 22, 1941, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Wilfred and Alice (Ardner) Stein. On June 11, 1966, Rev. Richard MacDonald, S.C.J. married Bill and Beatrice "Bea" MacDonald in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue.

Survivors include his wife, Bea of Tiffin; two daughters, Jane T. Von Dohre of West Carrollton and Susan M. Stein of Tiffin; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy Bogner and Carolyn M. Young; and grandson, Georg Stein.

Bill graduated in 1960 from Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked at Fox Electric for over 20 years and then in 1978 started working with Buckeye Auto Parts, which is now Car Quest, for 35 years. Bill enjoyed growing pickles in bottles, assisted his wife, Bea, with Girl Scouts and was a member of the Tiffin Lions Club, NRA, Isaac Walton League, Wooden Cross Singers, and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus #608 and the Jaycees where he was the first Jaycee Senator.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka and Bill's brother-in-law, Rev. Richard MacDonald, S.C.J. co-officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or to the Knights of Columbus #608.
