William H. "Bill" Varner, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, October 17, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo with family by his side.


He was born on May 5, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Howard R. and Bettie Jane (Marshman) Varner. He married Diane L. Blisard on June 6, 1970.


Survivors include his wife, Diane; 2 sons, Shawn Varner of Tiffin, Paul (Pam) Varner of Creston, IA; daughter, Sheri (Mike) Rumschlag of New Riegel, OH; step-brother, Richard (Judy) Berg of Youngstown, OH; step-sister, Sandra (James) Robinson of Fallbrook, CA; 4 grandchildren, Arianna, Katie, Patrick and Parker.


He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Mildred "Millie" Varner.


Bill lived in North Carolina for 13 years and returned to Tiffin 3 years ago where he could retire close to his grandchildren who were very important to him. He worked for Ballreich's as a distributor for years; Varner's Distributing for 13 years and delivered for WIC for many years. Bill enjoyed gardening, vacationing, watching sports and was a The Ohio State University Buckeyes and NASCAR fan.


There will be no visitation or services per family's request.


Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
