Wilma Lee Hoover, 79, formerly of Tiffin and most recently of Good Shepherd Home passed away Thursday evening, September 25, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on September 23, 1935 in Terre Haute, IN, to Everette Arthur and Ethel Mae (Dupus) Peyton . On August 8, 1953, she married Kenneth J Kaufman and they later divorced, on June 18, 1964, she married Donald J Hoover and they later divorced.
Survivors include her 5 children, Karon (Dwight) Moyer of Tiffin, Sharon Kaufman of Stockton, CA, Lance (Debra Haefer) Kaufman of Bettsville, Marcy (Tom) Bishop of Tiffin and Paul Hoover of Bettsville; sister Opal Marie McManamie of St. Charles, IL; 14 grandchildren, John Hoover, Brenda (Mark) Distel, Heather (James) Conn, Holli (Andrew) Alsip, Jessica Murawski, Chrystal Kaufman King, Chadd Kaufman, Benjamin (Ashley) Bishop, Emily Bishop, Janet Puckett, Brandon Hoover, Julie Mellini, Stacie O'Man and Jeff Hoover; 27 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Wilma Murawski; a former brother in law that was more like a brother to her, Robert McManamie.
Wilma worked at Wiley Jeep in Chicago,IL and was a waitress in Cicero, IL, at The Aloha Grill where she served coffee to Al Capone. She retired from Fry Foods in Tiffin after 20 years. She loved country music especially George Jones, was an avid fan and collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia. In her free time, she did a lot of crocheting of Afghans until her sight was gone. She also loved playing BINGO and watching NASCAR.
Her Funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. With Rev. Darla Metz officiating. Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday, September 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Home, Tiffin Mercy Intensive Care Unit, or charity of donor's choice.
