Burnett G. “Burnie” Traxler, 64, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2022 at his home.
He was born on July 28, 1957, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Grover and Marjorie A. “Marge” (Magers) Traxler. On April 28, 1989, he married Teresa Y. Hiett and she survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Sarah (Marshall) Traxler-Lamming of Bowling Green and Jamie (Preston) Smith of Hunker, PA; brothers, John A. (Becky) Traxler of Leesville and Joseph A. (Renee) Traxler of Tiffin; sisters, Elizabeth (Steve) Shelt of GA, Barbara Sue (Billy) Carter, Virginia Fetro and Jackie Englert, all of Texas, Mary Lou Traxler and Amy (Stephone) Lanier, both of Tiffin; stepsister, Rhonda Trent; two grandchildren, Meadow and Forrest; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Traxler and Marjorie Pennycuff; stepfather, William J. Pennycuff; and brothers, Richard “Monk” Traxler, Chris Traxler and Fred Traxler.
Burnie attended Tiffin Columbian High School and was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He worked at Clyde Whirlpool for over 15 years. Prior to that, he worked at M-Tech in Upper Sandusky, Webster, American Standard and Moore Business Forms in Fremont. He enjoyed working on home improvements, cars and motorcycles, tinkering with engines and driving his Harley Davidson and Chevrolet Nova. He was the “pool boy” at his house . Burnie was always helping others and had the purest heart.
His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
