Charlene "Aunt Sunny" Gase Obituary

Charlene “Aunt Sunny” Gase, 62, of New Riegel, passed away Monday morning, June 29, 2020 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born on October 12, 1957, in Tiffin, Ohio, to James E. and Ethel V. (Tiell) Gase. 

Survivors include her brother, Larry (Merri) Gase of Fostoria; sister, Kathy Hemminger of Texas; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who she loved and cherished so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother in 1969 in Vietnam, PFC James F. Gase; and sisters, Sharon Louise Gase in 2016 and Judy Mileto in 2015.

Charlene graduated in 1976 from New Riegel High School and worked Carey Plastics and later at Paul’s Market, now Perry Street Market.  She enjoyed working and meeting everyone as they shopped.  She was a parishioner of All Saints Parish, New Riegel (former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church Frenchtown) where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered.  Charlene enjoyed trips to the Amish Country, casino trips, going on bicycle rides, embroidering and especially gardening.

A Mass will be Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Kyle Gase officiating.  Burial will follow the Mass at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Frenchtown.

Friends may visit with family an hour prior to Mass at the church, family suggests causal attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice, FACT, or The American Cancer Society.
