Charles "Chuck" Sherman Obituary

Charles Edward Sherman

Charles Edward Sherman, 80, passed from this earth on March 20, 2020 after a short bout with cancer. Charles was born January 26, 1940 to William Havner Sherman and Helen Katherine Sherman (nee Roderick). He graduated from McCutchenville High School in 1958.

Charles spent his early years working on the family farm, and helped his farming friends and neighbors his entire life. He worked at Tiffin Art Metal, Grabbler, Hayes Albion, Horizon, and he retired from Sunoco Products in 2005.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling, softball, gardening, cutting wood, fishing, travel, and baking cookies for his grandchildren. He loved to socialize and was quick to offer a visitor a beer and conversation. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.

He married Susan Reis on August 22, 1964, and she survives him.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Alice Sherman and granddaughter Alexandria Goodwin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Sara Sherman, Jonathan (Tammy) Sherman, Aaron (Tracey) Sherman, Rachel (Fred) Ruggeri; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Sherman, Elise Goodwin, Taylor, Stephanie, Joey, Ainsley, and Zavier Sherman; Veronica, Ashley, Jessica, and Sean Ruggeri; 1 great-grandchild: Logan Bailey; sisters Marjorie (Jim) Coldiron, and Nancy Robison; and 1 brother Robert (Virginia) Sherman.

A Private family service will take place.  Burial will be private in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, OH.

The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, OH for their outstanding care during this challenging time.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Bridge Hospice.
