Christopher R. Burks, 50, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 as a result of a car accident.
He was born on December 19, 1968, in Upper Sandusky to Robert Burks and Pamela Beeler (John) Dunlap. On March 19, 1988, he married Deeann Schriner.
Chris is survived by his wife, Deeann Burks of Tiffin; four daughters, Shelbi, Sessile, Shayna and Savanna all of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Xaiden and Bralyn; brothers, Steve (Carolyn) Burks of San Benito, Texas, Ryan (Lisa) Burks of Upper Sandusky, Cale (Arlene) Dunlap of Denver, CO and Scott (Sharon) Dunlap of Maple Heights; Rustan Burks of Tiffin; sisters, Tammy (Steve) Kiel of Wayne; Emily (Mike) Black of North Lewisburg; mother, Pam (John) Dunlap of Tiffin; grandmothers, Marjorie Beeler and Carol Burks; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Burks; and grandfathers, W. Ross Beeler and Donald Burks.
Chris graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1987, where he was a wrestler and member of the F.F.A. and from Terra Technical College with Degrees in Welding and Welding Inspection. Growing up, Chris loved playing baseball and had John as his coach for many years. He served in the United States Army for two years serving in Fort Riley, Kansas Infantry. He owned his own home improvement business, Burks Honey Do Home Improvement, worked at Kroger, TSC, other businesses in the area and for the past six years was a welder at Webster Mfg. and continued to do home improvements.
Chris loved his family and his two grandchildren. He would often come home from second shift and rock one or both of this babies while they would watch hunting shows to the wee hours. Chris’ legacy is left in the character of his four daughters and in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He had his girl’s names on a tattoo. Several people stated that he was the most honest and hard working person they ever met.
His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at United Baptist Church, 419 Coe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, with Pastor Jesse Caro officiating. He will be cremated as per his wishes. Military honors will be conducted by the United Veterans Council at the Church.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Wednesday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to his children for their education.
