Obituary

Clara E. Best, a woman of steadfast faith, who was born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, October 31, 2020. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family and love.

Clara was born on October 10, 1936 to Charles and Martha (Shiley) Everhart. In 1953, she married Homer Morrison, whom she had five children with and built a home within Tiffin, Ohio. Clara married her second husband, Paul Best in 1980, and he preceded her in death. She spent the last twenty-three years of her life with her best friend, and loving companion, David Hohman, who survives her today.

Survivors include her son, Tom (Brenda) Morrison of Tiffin; daughters, Debra (Curt) Swartzmiller, Shirley (Tom) Rumschlag, both of Attica, and Pam (Mark) Jensen of Orlando, FL.; brothers, Lou (Ann) Everhart and Clifford Everhart both of Tiffin; sister, Roberta Rowe of Pikesville, KY.; sister-in-law, Nancy Bailey of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Thomas Morrison Jr., Eric Morrison, Brandy Cook, Danny Vassalle Jr., Lindsey Crisp, Michael Rumschlag, Brooke Lambert and Jessica Martinson; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kathleen Sue Morrison; brothers, Charles and Clayton, Everhart; brother, Bill Bare; stepbrother, Ray Bailey; sister, Mary Hartson; and sister, Anna M. Furher.

Clara was a loving mother and worked for General Electric as a tool crib clerk. She loved her family immensely, she enjoyed ceramics, shopping with her daughters, crocheting, traveling, watching the birds from her breezeway, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She adored her dog, Snoopy, who also survives her today.  Most of all, she loved others, spread joy with her laughter and has inspired us all to “enjoy life and to love one another”.
