Clara L. Minzer, 93, of Texas and formerly of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, November 12 2022 in Conroe, Texas.
She was born on May 14, 1929, in Hammon, KY to Noah L. and Millie (Holsclaw) Perry. On July 2, 1949, in Sycamore United Methodist Church, she married Arthur D. “Artie” Minzer and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2012.
Survivors include her son, John H. (Karen) Minzer of Davidsonville, MD; daughter, Brenda (Jim) Bintz of Conroe, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 9 great, great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her mother who raised her, Alpha O. (Richardson) Perry; infant son, Joseph Minzer; brothers, Bearl Perry and Luke Perry; and sisters, Linda Dolores Messersmith and Pearl Perry.
Clara attended Tiffin Columbian High School and graduated from Sandusky Providence School of Nursing. She was an LPN at Mercy Hospital for 33 years and retired in 1989. While living in Tiffin, she was a former member of Washington Street Methodist Church, member of Grace Baptist Church, Tiffin Eagles Auxiliary #402 and the Tiffin Moose Auxiliary Lodge #846.
Clara and Artie loved to go camping. After retirement, they traveled to Myrtle Beach for the winter months for many years. She enjoyed watching T.V. and listening to talking books. In 2014, Clara moved to Texas to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Jesse Caro officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the funeral Home.
