Clayton H. Hemmerly, 71, of Fostoria, passed away Sunday morning, August 30, 2020 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
He was born on March 13, 1949, in Tiffin, Ohio to Clayton H. and Eileen (Hoffman) Hemmerly, Sr. On January 7, 1978, he married Susan M. “Sue” Walter.
Survivors include his wife, Susan M. Hemmerly of Fostoria; sisters, Karen Glunk of Fostoria, Jackie Vance of TN; goddaughter and niece, Tara Cale of Brandon, WV; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Hemmerly; and sisters, Sharon Lee Holt, Dottie Cook, Janet Kvittum, Cindy Linville and infant sisters, Frances and Beverly Hemmerly.
Clayton was a truck driver for Fry Foods and retired as a lineman from Sanoh in Findlay. He was a member of West Independence United Methodist Church where he was on the board and a church trustee and enjoyed fishing anywhere he could, playing cards and mowing his yard.
His funeral service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at West Independence United Methodist Church, Fostoria with Pastor Mark Weatherman officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the Church.
A Graveside service will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.
