Daniel F. Colatruglio, 83, of Bloomville, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
On February 25, 1939, in Tiffin, he was born to Daniel A. and Rosella A. (Smith) Colatruglio. He married Murial L. Steininger on October 10, 1959, and she survives in Bloomville.
Other survivors include a daughter, Donna (Lee) Jones of Sydney, OH; three sons, Dan (Anne) Colatruglio and Jeff (Paulette) Colatruglio both of Tiffin; Tony (Rhonda) Colatruglio of Florida; a brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Colatruglio of Florida; eight grandchildren, Alex and Jason Colatruglio, Vincent and Morgan Anway, Janelle Spencer, Nichole Felder, Emily and Collin Jones; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel was an active and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he had been in the choir, a Cantor, Eucharistic Minister, and volunteer for years. Dan graduated from Tiffin Calvert in 1957 and began a 36 year long career at National Machinery, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake Erie and the Sandusky River, was a season ticket holder for the University of Michigan football team, life members of the Tiffin Eagles, and a volunteer to many local charities and organizations. Dan was a talented Accordion player and would play in many bands like The Labels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 9:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Mathew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
