Darlene Isabelle Gaietto, 84, of Paris, TN and Tiffin, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN.
She was born on April 23, 1937, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Cletus Elmer and Garnet Louise (Hoover) Hammer. On February 4, 1956, she married Joseph Roos Gaietto and he preceded her in death in 2009.
Survivors include her five daughters, Joyce (Robert) Boney of Albuquerque, NM, Rosemary (Donald) Miller of Waddy, KY, Marcia (John) Underbakke of Scottsboro, AL, Patricia Gaietto of Jackson, TN and DeJane (Keith) Shellhart of Murfreesboro, TN; six sons, Jerome (Lisa) Gaietto of Hudson, OH, Phillip (Paola) Gaietto of Holly, MI, Arthur Gaietto of Willow Spring, NC, Kevin (Marlena) Gaietto of Decatur, AL, Mitchell (Alice) Gaietto of Silkeborg, Denmark and Edward (Gisa) Gaietto of Echterdingen, Germany; 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia (Donnie) Heilman, Tiffin, OH.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter.
Darlene was a 1955 graduate of Old Fort High School. As a mother of eleven children, she was very active in Hopewell-Loudon Music Boosters and parent teacher organizations until she moved to Murray, KY. She also obtained her real estate license while in Tiffin, OH. She was volunteer at the Boy Scout museum in Murray, KY for some years. However, one of her most rewarding contributions was her work with Henry County Right to Life in Paris, TN.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 5-7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
