David L. Recker, 66, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home.
He was born on October 14, 1955, in Lima, Ohio, to Robert L. “Bob” and Betty L. (Lammers) Recker. On July 6, 1979, he married Barbara Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Recker of Tiffin; son, Jerald “Jerry” Recker of Tiffin; brothers, Roy (Kim) Recker and Rick (Amy) Recker, both of New Riegel and Ken (Shelly) Recker of Port Clinton; and sisters, Elaine (Tom) Perry of Tiffin, Carol Crow of Chambersburg, PA, Teresa (Brad) Lonsway of Marblehead and Mary Jo (Bob) Welter of McCutchenville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Matthew Recker; brother, Gregory P. Recker; sister, Barbara Lynn Recker; and brother-in-law, Dean Crow.
David was a 1974 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and attended the University of Findlay. He worked at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital for 37 years as the facility operations supervisor and earned the life-time Achievement Award and The Ohio State Health Care Facility Management Eagle Award. He was an EMT for 12 years for New Riegel and Republic and was on the Republic Fire Department. He retired in 2020. David was also a flight instructor for 30 years for Tiffin Aire, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Allen Eiry Senior Center and the Wood County Ohio Horse Council and enjoyed raising horses, horseback riding and motor homing.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 6 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.tiffinstjoseph.org. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic.
