Dennis K. “Denny” Hively, 73, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on September 24, 1948, in Sandusky County Ohio, to Clarence and Louise W. (Waugh) Hively. On July 11, 1970, he married Patricia “Pat” Ekleberry.
Survivors include his wife Patricia “Pat” Hively of Tiffin; son, Sean P. (Chelsey) Hively of Lewis Center; and granddaughter, Danielle Hively of Westerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Hively; and sister, Deborah K. Thompson.
Denny was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served in a Special Forces unit, MACVSOG in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from the Army, he went to Tiffin University and received a degree in Business Management.
He was a member of the Sycamore Masonic Lodge and Valley of the Firelands Scottish Rites, AmVets Post 48 and past member of the Shriners and Eagles #402.
Denny was a previous Tiffin business owner of Tiffin Home Entertainment and business consultant for Ritchie & Associates.
Denny was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid golfer and had a couple of hole-in-ones, enjoyed bowling, going on road trips and loved spending time with his family, especially going to his granddaughter’s sporting events.
His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Service at the Funeral Home. Masonic Services will begin at 1:45 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County or Shriners Hospital for Children
