Doris J. (Smith) Wise

Doris J. Wise, 84, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home.

She was born on February 1, 1937, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Carl M. and Margaret (Hohman) Smith, Sr. On February 1, 1958, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married James A. Wise.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James A. Wise of Tiffin; children, Sandra J. (Don) Berrier of Tiffin, Mary Francis “Babe” (Scott) Neidermier of New Washington, Annette M. (Joe) Worland, Bryan R. (Laura) Wise and Jeffrey A. Wise, all of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Ryan, Kyle Miller, Andrew (Becky) Miller, Kirstin (Doug) Berlan, Nathaniel Worland, Trenton, Travys and Trever Wise, Justin (Marissa) Wise, Brittney (Stan) Gwinner, Brandon Wise; 7 great grandchildren; and sister Margaret Ann Kinn of Upper Sandusky

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl M. Smith, Jr. and Thomas E. Smith; sisters, Evelyn Schetter, Kathleen Scherger and Marilyn Podach.

Doris graduated in 1955 from Calvert High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir for 38 years. She had an extraordinarily strong faith in God and has undoubtedly been welcomed into His loving arms. We all have been greatly blessed by her unconditional love and support.

She was a prayer warrior and kind to all she met. In honor of her, the family asks that you pass on kindness and prayers. Due to Covid-19 and Doris’ request, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to go to Stein Hospice or St. Mary Catholic Church.
