Dr. Robert W. Baxter

Dr. Robert W. Baxter, 75, of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home.

He was born on December 31, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, to Robert W. and Mary Cathern (Hathaway) Baxter.  On April 2, 1966, he married Katherine Reigle and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2018.

Survivors include a daughter, Leah (Steve) Bechtol of Ashland; his son, Miles Baxter of Tiffin; brother, Paul (Constance) Baxter of Canton; brothers-in-law, Paul Blackburn of Canton, Dennis (Patricia) Reigle of Danville, California and Bill Reigle of Cincinnati; and four grandchildren, Wyatt, Mira, Hadley and Hazel Bechtol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine of 52 years; and sister, Mary Cathern Blackburn.

Dr. Baxter was a member and past elder of the First Presbyterian Church.  He graduated in 1961 from Glenwood High School in Canton, from Heidelberg College in 1965 and from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1970.  He moved to Tiffin in 1980 and opened his dental practice.  He later retired in 2012.   Dr. Baxter was a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental School Fraternity.

His Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Katie Treadway officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the First Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Presbyterian Church and to St. Francis Senior Ministries.
