E. Cedella Oberlander, 96, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on May 7, 1926, in Nevada, Ohio, to David and Iva (Smalley) Kaiser. On August 7, 1948, she married James Oberlander.
Survivors include her husband, James Oberlander of Tiffin; sons, James M. (Bonnie) Oberlander of Tiffin and Dr. Richard D. (Betty) Oberlander of Pickerington; daughters, Carol (David) Pagnard of Indianapolis and Marilyn Bentz of Gahanna; daughter-in-law, Janean Oberlander of New Knoxville, Ohio 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David E. Oberlander; and brother, Lewis Kaiser.
Cedella graduated from Nevada High School and from Bliss Business College in Columbus. She was a teacher’s aide for over 20 years at Tiffin City Schools, St. Joseph Catholic School and St. Mary Catholic School. Cedella was a member of Family of Faith Lutheran Church, Women of the Church, Women’s Club and former member of First Lutheran Church. Cedella had a green thumb, beautiful flower gardens, was a great baker, loved her dogs, enjoyed going on bus trips, traveling and camping, but most importantly loved spending time with her family.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Family of Faith Lutheran Church, 870 W. Market Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Pastor Philip Moerdyk officiating. The entrance to Church is in the back of the Tiffin Mall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family of Faith Lutheran Church, 170 W. Davis Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, Stein Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
