George Jackson, Jr. Obituary

George D.O. Jackson, Jr., 73, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, January 4, 2021 at Mercy Health -Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on November 2, 1947, in Pennsylvania, to George Daniel Oscar and Evelyn Viola (Gruber) Jackson, Sr.  On March 16, 1969, he married Arlene J. Erdman and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2009.  On February 1, 2010, he married Dawn Glick. 

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Jackson of Tiffin; sons, Art Jackson of Dallastown, PA and Randy (Melissa) Evans of Tiffin; daughters, Heidi Jackson and Heather Henney, both of Dover, PA and Heather Hurt of Tiffin; sister, Linda Weaver of York, PA; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Jackson; and sisters, Emma Pessogenelli, Patricia “Patty” Carson and infant, Betty Jackson.

George served in the United States Marines in 1964.  He was a laser operator at Harley Davidson in York, PA, and a Chaplin for the Marines in Findlay.  He enjoyed playing on computers, puzzles, sudoku and pinball.

His Memorial service will be at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Freedom Biker Church, York, PA with Pastor Jim Quoss officiating.  The service will be livestreamed at fbcyorkpa.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
