Grace I. (Jackson) Huffman

Grace I. Huffman, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023 at her home.

She was born on March 14, 1931, in Ravenna, Ohio to Oliver and Sarah (Allison) Jackson .  On January 16, 1949, she married Rexford W. Huffman, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Steyer of Tiffin, Ken Huffman of Tiffin, Bonnie (Greg) Ramirez of Tiffin, June (Dave) Wiese of Tiffin, Joyce (Ron) Randell of Tiffin, Scott (Terry) Huffman and Wendy (Roger) DePew of Martin, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Vicki Huffman of Tiffin; son-in-law, Donald Arter of Tiffin; sister, Irene (Don) Jackson Schueler of Tiffin; 20 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children, Rexford W. Huffman, Jr., LuAnn Arter and infants, Betty Jo Huffman and Sandra Lee Huffman; siblings, Fred Jackson, Thelma Gaietto, Harold Jackson, twins, Annabelle Barber and Isabell Brown and Shirley Jacobs; and son-in-law, Len Steyer.

Grace worked in housekeeping for a few years at Mercy Hospital and at St. Francis Home for over 15 years.  She resided at the Kiwanis Manor for 32 years where she was very active and sang in their choir. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, was a Community Hospice Care volunteer and a member of the Red Hat Society.  Grace was an alterations seamstress, enjoyed babysitting for years in her home, taking trips to Las Vegas, Arizona and Ireland, sewing, ceramics, crocheting many afgans and loved her pets, Miss Kitty and Duke her bird. 

Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Manor Bus Fund or to Redeemer Lutheran Church.

The family requests that if Grace had crotcheted you an afghan, please bring it to the visitation on Tuesday and to Church on Wednesday for all to see.
