Gregory N. Miller, 70, of Bettsville, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at his home.
He was born on August 17, 1949, in Bellevue, Ohio, to H. Neil and Bernice (Gearhart) Miller. On March 15, 2002, he married Sharon K. Shireman.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Miller of Bettsville; stepsons, Derick Rau and Jason Rau; sisters, Marilyn Strecker and Sandra (Robert) Routzahn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Linder; brother-in-law, Richard Linder; and a niece and nephew.
Gregory grew up on a farm in Republic, Ohio and graduated in 1968 from Republic High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. While in the Marines, he received the Good Conduct Medal and earned his SCUBA license.
In 1972, he earned his private pilot’s license from Tiffin Aire Gnepper. He played and sang music for fun and laughs and earned honorable mention for the song he wrote “Memories of Wounded Knee” in 1994.
Gregory worked in construction, transportation and night club management. He loved his Country, family, friends, pets and strangers and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling. He eventually gave up hunting because of his love for animals.
Gregory says, “Thanks for the great memories”.
There will be a graveside service at 1:45 P.M. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Seneca Memory Gardens with Rev. Tammy Waugaman officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
