Obituary

Harlan Arbogast, 86, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 16, 2023 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born on November 24, 1936, in McCutchenville, Ohio, to Charles and Loretta (Reinhart) Arbogast.  On January 31, 1959, he married Rosemary Schreiner and have spent 64 wonderful years together.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Arbogast of Tiffin; children, Carol (Denny) Lofay of New Riegel, Sandra (Mark) Sexton of Kentucky, Steven (Yvonne) Arbogast of Tiffin, James (Michelle) Arbogast of Curtice, Tina (Jody) Nagy of Tiffin, Phyllis (Brian) Ream of Tiffin, Roger (Tammy) Arbogast of Tiffin, Wanda (Roger) Jordan of Tiffin, Joanne (Tom Kapelka) Perkins of Tiffin, Milissa Wagner of Old Fort, Bruce (Jenny Burns) Arbogast of Alabama, Douglas (Kelly) Arbogast of Findlay, Jessica (Parker) Bloom of Tiffin, Justin (Brandi) Arbogast of Tiffin; 41 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Louis Arbogast of Fostoria; and sister, Rita Mae (Robert) Kelbley of New Riegel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Pierce-Mackenzie; son, Dennis Arbogast; seven siblings; one grandchild; and five great grandchildren.

Harlan attended McCutchenville Schools and was part of the 1954 graduating class.  During his time in high school he was part of the F.F.A., choir, many sports and the theater.  He joined the U.S. Army in 1956 and served for two years and spent six years in the Reserves.  After his years in the Service, he worked at Excello for 37 years.

Harlan was a member of the New Riegel Legion Hall, enjoyed going to the casino, playing Bingo, playing cards, gardening, watching old TV shows/movies and spending time with his family.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.  After the Burial, please join the family at the Arbogast Family household for a meal and Celebration of Life.

Friends may visit with friends from 5-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T., Purple Heart Foundation, St. Mary Catholic Church or to the family of Harlan.
