Harlin L. Kuhn, Sr., 93, of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday morning, February 8, 2020 at St. Francis Home.
He was born on May 21, 1926, in Bascom, Ohio, to Ralph and Ethel (Pottinger) Kuhn. On December 14, 1944, he married Emma Lake.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Emma Kuhn of Tiffin; son, Harlin (Carol) Kuhn, Jr. of Bascom; daughter, Margaret Slay of Sycamore; sister, Marcia Zoeller of Tiffin; three grandchildren; Kim (Fiancé Kevin Klausing) Radcliff, Jeff (Stephanie) Kuhn, Michael Slay and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Kuhn; son-in-law, Dennis “Mike” Slay; brothers, James, Donald and Larry Kuhn; and grandson, Timothy Kuhn.
Harlin served in the United States Army 1944-1946 with the 4th Armored Division in Central Europe, worked at Sterling Grinding Wheel and retired from the Tiffin Post Office working for many years in the maintenance department, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed watching football, baseball, golf, traveling the country to watch fast pitch softball, wintering in Florida, loved his dog Adolf, and was a Notre Dame and Cleveland Indians fan.
His Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the Service at the funeral home.
