Harriett Nell Magers, 93 of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, January 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
On December 25, 1928 in Dublin, Ohio she was born to Clair Aaron and Helen G. (Barringer) Bushong. She married Wilbur F. Magers on October 3, 1946 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1989.
Survivors include her sons, Wilbur “Bud” Magers, Thomas Magers and Joseph (Delena) Magers all of Tiffin; daughters, Claire “Sue” Kaiser, Mary (Raul Garcia) Roelle, Martha (John) Schreiner, Laura (Greg) Bogard all of Tiffin; Jennifer (Joe) Hetzel of Fostoria; Sarah (Mike) Ruggiero of North Baltimore; Margaret (Bob Ricker) of Columbus Grove; sister, Phyllis McKinley of Marion, OH; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Harriette “Fran” Martel, Anna McLean, and six-year-old Christina Marie Magers; brothers, Charles B. Bushong, Edwin P. Bushong, Richard L. Bushong, Ernest Bushong, Claire Bushong, Robert Bushong and James Davis; sister, Marilyn Bushong; and five grandchildren, Jamie, David, Ricky, Julie and Gina.
Harriett was a dedicated member of St. Mary Catholic Church and attended Chuckery-Darby High School and over the years, she worked at Lawson’s in Fostoria and Tiffin. She will be remembered as “The lady in the green house”. Her door was always open for a cup of coffee or a meal to anyone that needed anything. In her early years, she modeled for area stores, took flying lessons and played piano along with several other instruments. Her greatest joy was raising her family and taking care of others. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and caregiver to many.
Her mass of Christian Burial will Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed at https://www.stmarychurch.com. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.
