Howard E. Hohman, Sr., 78, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 06, 2023 at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born on July 16, 1945, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Marion and Marguerite (Shaull) Hohman. On October 14, 1963, in Fort Knox, he married Victoria “Vicky” Lawrence.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Hohman of Tiffin; sons, Howard (Michelle) Hohman, Jr. of Glenmore and Christopher (Sandy) Hohman of Tiffin; daughters, Lisa (Kenneth) Chaffin and Tracey (Aaron) Sherman, both of Tiffin; brothers, Phil (Susie) Hohman, Gary (Maureen) Hohman and Dean (Della) Hohman, all of Tiffin, and Mike (Barbara) Hohman of Findlay; sister, Lori (Jerry) Weininger of Tiffin; sisters-in-law, Anne Hohman and Linda Hohman, both of Tiffin; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mickey Hohman; and brothers, Jim Hohman, Fred Hohman, Stanley “Buzz” Hohman, and Wilbur “Bill” Hohman.
Howard graduated in 1963 from Tiffin Calvert High School. After high school he served in the United States Army in Korea and Vietnam as a cook and was honorably discharged in 1966. Howard worked at General Electric until they closed in 1986 and then was self-employed until his retirement. He was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was very faithful. He was also a decades-long member of Clinton Heights Golf Course, where he loved to golf many times a week. He also enjoyed being at home and loved sitting on the deck with his wife, Vicky.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
